warm weather sight casting :)

Well for me it has been unseasonably warm this past few weeks! which equals big snook back to cruising the edges looking for baitfish! This has resulted in tons of shots and hookups with big snook that I’m not used to seeing this time of year. this is great because on a higher stage of the tide the redfish are tight against the mangroves as well which means lots of fish cruising the edges mid day to late afternoon. the smaller snook seem to be holding strong in their backcountry creek hiding spots but not for long if this weather stays great. I have slowed down on wading the creeks on low tide and choose to push the boat on the edges for plenty of quality shots daily for my good casters. For my plug and bait clients I have been drifting or poling the flat on high water in the afternoons for monster trout and good redfish action on “Paul Brown” soft twitch baits and weed less soft plastics are my go to lures. It is such a great time to get out on the water with boat traffic slowing down this month we can expect a great January for fishing the flats! Hope to see you at Boca Grande Outfitters to answer any questions or on the bow of my boat is the preferred spot!

Let Em Go, Watch Em Grow 🙂
